Silvester Lango MD - Author Page
Silvester Lango MD was born in Italy of Slovenian parents in Deskie, in the same war-ravaged area that inspired Hemingway to write his famous novel, A Farewell to Arms. Miraculously, Lango survived the emotional stress brought about by war-torn Europe and won a scholarship for medical school in Yugoslavian Slovenia. When he said “no” to their Communist propaganda and refused their scholarship money, he nearly starved and worked in a factory to continue his studies. He began his residency in Switzerland and then migrated to the United States where he finished his residency in Philadelphia and New York City and, finally, became a full-fledged orthopedist. He currently practices medicine in New York City and resides with his family in Westchester. Back to Home Page
